So the last few months…

Well everyone while I’ve been not blogging a fair bit has happened…

  • I completed my 2nd Masters degree…4 long years of doing 2 subjects a semester is over…now I was planning on having a break and not studying for a fair while, if at all…except I have to do studies in Religion this year.
  • I’ve still been losing weight…I’ve lost over 43kg (over 95lbs) since the start of 2015…so in 13 months!!!  Oh and before you ask I will put a photo up…later though, this is a relatively quick post before going to bed.
  • I happened to run into Novak Djokovic whilst walking down a laneway in Melbourne a couple of days before the Australian Open started!!!  Yes I definitely got a photo of him.
  • I went to the filming of Masterchef and saw Nigella and then went to see her talk at a different event.
  • I decided rather randomly to buy a new car.
  • I’ve had my first ever sporting injury as part of the whole losing weight thing…which has been the world’s most annoying injury!!!

Well it’s been a while

Sorry blog world…it has been a while since I’ve been on here and it’s been a rather busy time with work leading up to Christmas and then holidays and now it is almost time to go back to work, only one day of holidays left.

But My Kitchen Rules is back tonight…in about 17 minutes in fact.  So just a quick post now to say I’m back and a couple of more post will appear tonight and tomorrow…about life in general and MKR and the holidays where I went to the filming of Masterchef!!!

Holidays

Sorry it’s been quiet on here for a few weeks…things have been rather hectic with work and uni.

Then thankfully the last two weeks have been HOLIDAYS!!!  The first week I did a bit of a road trip, 2870km in fact from Country Town 2.0, to Brisbane and up to the Sunshine Coast for dinner one night.  Then down to Coffs Harbour via a few random places along the way, then on to Newcastle via a few more random places and then back to Country Town 2.0 via a few small towns.

The past 10 days have been 10 glorious days relaxing at home, going out for breakfast, lunch or coffee at the pub, going to the rodeo, watching the AFL Grand Final and somehow remaining slightly calm with Hawthorn’s amazing win and watching last night’s thrilling NRL Grand Final.

Tomorrow is back to work…but here’s some holiday snaps for you to enjoy.

Beef, vegetable and pasta soup

Given how cold it is today I decided it is a soup kind of day.

Ingredients:
2 steaks – I’m not sure what they are, I won them on a meat tray and had them in the freezer
mushrooms
beans
pumpkin
onion
sweet potato
carrots
1L Campbell’s Italian stock base
1c short angel hair pasta

I just cut up all the vegies and the meat and put them in the pressure cooker with the Campbell’s Italian stock base and cooked it in there.
When that was done I added the pasta and cooked it for a couple of minutes until the pasta was cooked.

Another only in the country…

So Country Town 2.0 has 2 supermarkets and I don’t mean Coles or Woolies or even IGA.

I mean two small little supermarkets that often run out of different things, two little supermarkets that get meat and vegetables in once a week.  They don’t even get milk or bread on a daily basis.

So this sign saying that all the meat is sold out is nothing really unusual.

Mind you there is a small butcher’s shop in town…but it also has fruit, vegetables, milk, bread, and a few other things like pies and hotdogs.

Like I said…only in the country.

Only in the country…

I took this a few weeks ago, I was walking home from work and noticed a horse in the front yard of the neighbour’s across the road.

The scary thing is that four houses down the street have two sheep wandering around their empty block.

So this was taken from my front verandah last week.

Just another glorious country sunset!!
