Write down the first words that comes to mind when we say . . . home. . . soil. . . rain. Use those words in the title of your post.  Well that’s the topic for the January 18th post for write, every day of your life…yes I’m a few hours late, life sidetracked me for a while yesterday with the repairing of a windscreen that was only put in on Monday……but that’s another story.

So given the topic I’m slight changing it…I’m not using the words I think of when I think of home, soil and rain as my post title.

I’m choosing not to use them as all of them make me think of the same words…Country Town, not at all surprising really.

Home…For many years now I’ve been of the opinion that home is where you are living at that time, not necessarily where you grew up or where your family are.  Home is what you make it and where you make it.  For four years Country Town was home, actually it is still home now, mainly as I haven’t yet made it to Country Town 2.0.  I leave on that road trip in the morning.

Soil…Soil, dirt, call it what you want.  Country Town is definitely full of red dirt, not the usual brown dirt.  But red dirt that is common in country Australia.  Red dirt that gets into so many things and doesn’t like to come out again.

Rain…Right now it is wet season in northern Australia and I’ve been through a number of wet seasons over the years.  The horrible humidity, the mosquitoes attacking everywhere…even when the fogger has been around Country Town spraying the bug spray through the whole town, the rolling thunder and the massive lightning cracks that make you jump and make the whole house shake, the heavy rain that can go on for hours and make the tv reception go out…usually right in the middle of something that you’re actually watching.  Wet season is something that I love and hate at the same time.
