Otherwise known as…

The NaBloPoMo prompt for November 7th says if you had to switch your first name, what name would you choose and why?

Well for starters I’ve got a name that was popular in the 1920’s-1940’s…as for these days I’ve only met one person with the same first name as me and that was when I was back in high school and she was the deputy principal, so she was a fair bit older than me.

My name isn’t a name that is popular these days, it’s not a name you hear very often.  I hear it too many times a day when at work as I get called Miss Firstname, not Miss Surname as most other places.

But what would I change it to???  I don’t know, I’m honestly not sure.

As a teacher I’ve heard of so many names over the last 15 years while I’ve been teaching and these names all bring up the memory of that specific cherub or cherubs that have had the same name.  From the list of the 100 most popular baby names in Australia in 2012 I’ve taught 30 of those names.

Some names have had good connotations and great memories, others…oh others are not so great.

So what do I want to change my name to??? For now I think I’ll stick to the name I have.
