Rugby player of the week…James O’Connor

Seeing as I moved away from the Hawks for my AFL player of the week I’ve decided to move away from the Reds for my rugby player of the week and have chosen James O’Connor.

Strangely enough I think JOC is a good looking sort.

JOC’s rather young, only 23, but he’s been playing Super Rugby and playing for the Wallabies since he was 18!!!

James spent his first four seasons in Perth with the Western Force.

Then he moved to the Melbourne Rebels for the 2012 and 2013 Super Rugby seasons.

There have also been a few interesting hairstyles over the years…

the young days it was a Bieber-esque style

there’s been the short back and sides with the top pony tail

words cannot describe this style

But then in 2013 he decided to shave his head for charity supporting Autism Spectrum Disorder…and you have to love that!!!

He’s even done some modelling shots throughout his career…

He’s had some pretty horrific injuries over the years, even before he started in Super Rugby when he ruptured his spleen. He’s had bad hamstring injuries, in 2012 he lacerated his liver during a game, which was rather horrific.

The big question is where will James end up for the 2014 Super Rugby season after the Melbourne Rebels parted ways with him?
